I had to take the vehicle several miles to the closest Hertz rental place and drop it off late at night. I knew it was a long shot but decided to try it anyway. I immediately called George on the way and told him my predicament and asked him to please meet me there ASAP or I would not be able to make the flight. George(himself) arrived at the rental place just as I dropped the keys in the box. He then proceeded to quickly get me back to the terminal. As a result of George caring and reacting quickly, I was able to make the flight. It is so innacurate one might think a competitor of mine posted it. Since these internet postings have no end I will post facts concerning our operation. I would ask this Gentleman to document and substantiate his claims and forward them to me and I will take any action that I can if he can prove his accusations. If the Gentleman had a problem he should have asked the Driver for my name and number. There was never any attempt of anyone contacting us to file a complaint. 1. Our rates are approved and on file with the State of Delaware and the DAFB. 2. Our Taxi's operate with sealed Taxi Meters. 3. Our Rate from the Dover AFB to the Best Western in Dover is $15.00 total for 4 people. 4. We have never charged $130.00 to Phila nor have we charged $250.00 to BWI. Our everyday rate to these airports are $159.00 to Phila and $199.00 to BWI. Feel Free to call us for a quote. In addition these rates ar $30.00 to $50.00 less than the Metered Rate since we discount long distance trips for the Military. 5. A rate of $35.00 is quite possible from Avis Car Rental in Dover to the DAFB depending on the amount of people. As far as the meter showing $17.50 and us charging double the Meter Rate - never never happened. In fact from either of the three Car Rental Companies in Dover to the AFB the is no meter rate that ends up costing $17.50 6. How we do business is this: Last Halloween there was an Active Duty Captain and her 8 y/o son stuck at Dover. We took the kid Trick or Treating with our Family. My wife routinely takes dependent Families who are stuck in Dover and have run out of money shopping to get food and diapers when they have run out of money. We also routinely carry them for free. If you would like a few of their names please let me know. 7. We are a monthly financial Contributor to the Dover USO. Either the management changed or he thought he could rip us off like a lot of other companies who provides services to the military. Tried to charge 4 people 15.oo each (total of 60.00) for one way trip to Best Western, 10 dollar total by cab on meter. 130 to phil. or 250 to BWI, almost the same distance, less in tolls to BWI. Local ca companies must be on the meter unless a negotiated rate is worked out. I spoke to OIC of terminal and she said the APS admin and wing JAG is looking into the pricing of Georges.   John D.
