Dirk already sent me this .pdf file John, thanks.

I was doing some poking around and found that the user database is not processing new users correctly ... I assume because it seems to be overloaded ? There has been a huge increase in new accounts lately due to the military.com addition, and this is only going to make things worse (at least until we figure things out).

I've posted my findings on the 'developer' site and am hoping for a speedy response. For the time being, I'm closing this thread. When I'm ready for more input regarding this known issue, I'll reopen.

Thanks Bryan. I've experienced on occasion it's only a minor annoyance and I put it down to increased traffic. If it happens again I'll do a screen print to see if that helps diagnose the problem.

... still no reply to Dirks questions from the 'developer'. I'm going to ATTEMPT to help, but can't make any promises.

I personally haven't been able to experience the problem others have been having ... if I did, I'd have a better idea how to proceed with this. So, to anyone who is experiencing this problem on a regular basis, please reply to this thread. When you do so, I'll set up a temporary monitoring option on your particular account. When you experience this problem again (and you report it) hopefully, the data will give me some clues on what's happening. Thanks.

I had it happen a few times, I just either hit refresh, or hit the back button. That clears the problem. Had more problems trying to buy something, Dirk thinks it is because of me living overseas, but will work our way around that one later.

Cherry this is the same thing I get when trying to go from one page to another.

One of the files required to complete this operation has been locked by another process. Please wait 5 seconds and then submit your request again.

Why didn't this ever happen before we were moved to this new server? Is this program different from the prior one? They certainly LOOK the same!

It continues to happen to me, perhaps 1/4 of the time--I just don't bother to report it any more, because it IS so frequent.

Every time it has occurred, I have "trusted" the message that I had already posted, so I have not hit the <post> button again, and when I've checked on the thread, sure enough my post is there despite the message that the process was blocked and I should try again.

I would guess it also happens to many others, judging by the frequent double-posts.
Are "they" really working on an upgrade that is supposed to eliminate this problem?

Dirk, I got the same result as Cherry C did on 6/9 yesterday. Having seen this thread, I backed out to the topics page, refreshed it, and bingo......the message was in fact there with no problem. If I had followed the instructions, it would have resulted in a double post. As you stated, perhaps the upgrade will iron out this bug. Thanks for all your work on this site. I can't immagine trying to compile all this info without it!!

Dirk,
I had the same notice this date, a pop up when preparing a post and then clicking to post same.

It did that to me almost 50% of the time earlier this morning!

(Why did it never occur until the site was moved to the new server? It surely LOOKS like exactly the same software program!)

Sure hope the de-bugged upgrade version comes out soon.

Cherry, This version does have some hickups once in a while which I apologize for. As soon as it becomes available I am eligible to get the next upgrade which should fix some of these problems.

I will continue to try and get answers from the developer. Thanks for letting me know.

Dirk, this happened before and I ignored it but with a second time I think I should let you know.

Just now for the second time recently, I wrote a message, checked and edited it via the Preview function, and then clicked on Post. I got the screen that says the function has been temporarily blocked and that I should try again in a few seconds. That is not the problem. What IS the problem is that when I went back, as instructed, and re-clicked on Post to try again, I got a message that I had already posted (and maybe clicked twice, which I had NOT). So I checked the section and sure enough, even though the program had claimed the function was blocked, it had posted my message anyway!

Just thought you ought to know this thing still has a few bugs!
