Fred, To save them from typing my info, I always add a comment asking them not to do it and that I'll bring my copy in when I report as being present. Only 3 or 4 ever type them anymore. A Spats volunteer at Dover told me the retiree volunteers sometimes end up doing this. I've never been refused the date on my e-mail sign up. I presume it is more necessary to post those on leave, but not for retirees. |

When you get a silly remark like that, I hope you just smile and say, "Okay." It's not worth arguing about but whoever "reprimanded" you was totally out of line, IMO. There is no requirement to let your full 60 days run out before re-signing up, nor any instruction I have ever seen to indicate that sending a second later signup is a no-no or a sign that you are failing to keep proper track of your own situation. |

" Does someone at Chsn (437 APS) have to manually type in all the data for each of the hundreds signing in for Space-A each day?" Yes, which is why info usually isn't enetered because a large percent of folks sending those signups (the flood) never use them. The automated system just sends an email with your info. It does not automatically enter your info in GATES (the system the PAX rep has to manually enter your data into). |

This might not be the right forum, but I was just reprimanded by someone at 437 APS Chsn, for signing up there for a later date (when my current signup was still valid). The person suggested that I keep better track of my signups so that they do not get "flooded out". I did not think much about it, and I answered that I will "keep better track". On the other hand, how much person time is required in these automated sign up systems? Does someone at Chsn (437 APS) have to manually type in all the data for each of the hundreds signing in for SpaceA each day? I want to keep a valid signup at CHSN. |
