The notice is now posted in the General Spacea Forum. You will see that 'veiled threat' was not made by me. Anmd I also did not claim to be an owner of this board - just a user. Please people, if you are going to comment on a posting, make sure you are reading it correctly. |

W.Cyzik, You wrote:"The users of this board (and I am one of them) do not make the rules, but we need to play by them until they change." You are not the owner of this board. That individual is Dirk Pepperd. We on this board have gone through an extensive discussion/posting of comments in the past and guidance from the operator of this board. I have also addressed your comments in Flight Information Schedues on this same subject.I personally displeased with a veiled threat with "of possible revoking spacea privileges".That authority rests with the service Secretaries of Military Departments.Ref: par 10.4, DOD 4515.13R. |

Some time ago the Pax Reps at Wright-Patt posted a notice that their schedules were not to be posted anywhere. I do not believe that the Pax Reps posted this notice on their own initiative. In general the reps at W-P have been the most friendly and helpful of any I've seen in the bases I've visited. I don't remember the exact verbage in the notice but in it was the implied warning that violators to this posting ban could have their spacea privildges revoked. W-P is the base closest to me so that was enough warning for me. (Cherry, would you heed such a ban from Andrews?) Could they get someones spacea privledges revoked from all bases? I don't know - and I don't care to find out, especially the hard way. W Standage - W-P has a toll free 800 number. I don't know the number offhand but will go to W-P and get the number and post it in General Spacea Forum later. I will also try to get a copy of this notice and will post it in the General section also. Now - short of taking away one's spacea privledges what can they do? - The first thing they can do is remove the recorded messages, then they could require 'walk in' sign-ups - easily justified by requiring visual verification of ID for signups. The users of this board (and I am one of them) do not make the rules, but we need to play by them until they change. |

If W-P objects to the post, they should contact the poster and explain why they shouldn't do it. The board didn't make the post, a member did. I for one welcome the information. Now, I don't have to waste my dime making a call all the way across country to W-P to find the info. |

Kerry, The problem is not with the board. The problem is that WP doesn't want their schedule on the web. But since the posting is on this board I asked Dirk and John D to possibly remove it. |

I fail to see why this is a "Problem with Space-A Message Board". |

Cherry, Well put, and in more text than I was inclined to expend on this topic.Additionally this has been"kicked around" before and even caused a poster to refrain from posting for that base. |

I think Dinotars is not putting the responsibility on Dirk, but rather on the Powers That Be at Wright-Patterson. Why SHOULD the W-P flights be "off limits" for posting? On whose authority? Is this approved at the top levels of AMC? If so, by whom? If not, then why is some lower level flunky trying to throw his/her weight around? Why should s/he get away with it? If Andrews, from which the President and other VIP's fly, does not try to censor free speech here, why would the W-P people think THEY can do so for their terminal? If Travis, from which huge numbers of overseas flights depart, does not censor free speech, why do W-P people think THEY are privileged thus? Similarly for Dover, McGuire, Charleston, and more. If W-P people are threatening Dirk with some kind of reprisals, then let's get the whole thing out in the open, and if necessary involve higher levels including elected officials. Yes, this sounds feisty. It's supposed to. I am tired of the UN-AMERICAN lie-down-and-roll-over attitudes toward "security" that we are seeing. |

Why don't Wright Patterson Pax Terminal Supervisor contact Dirk to make that request? |

John D or Dirk, Could you remove the flight schedule posting for Wright Patterson? The message board is being overwhelmed with new people who just don't know that Wright Patterson doesn't want to be posted. |
