I had the same problem and had to post my McGuire-Travis-Misawa-Yokota-Singapore-Manila trip report (written in word) in 3 parts. Its not the page break that is the problem, because I was able to identify that the anomaly was in the middle of a page. It took me a couple of hours to write the report, and a couple of hours to finally post it. jc |

I'm having the same problems as Cherry described while trying to post a reply to Ashley Lambert's post in the General Space-A forum. |

The problem with the diagnoses below is that I myself have been denied the ability to post something when I had simply entered a not-lengthy response in the "Add your message here" box in a thread--no cutting and pasting, no copying from some other program. |

I think word embeds page breaks into the document which could be why you are having problems. Do as Wanda says and save it as an RTF or a straight TXT document. Then do the cut and paste. |

Henry - Such copying of MS Word documents (mostly as associated with trip reports), is a never ending problem - and one that crops up for new posters. Don't feel bad - it happened to me too when I first tried to do it. Now - for some help: A .rtf document is one that is saved in "RICH TEXT FORMAT". To save a document in .rtf: 1. Instead of choosing SAVE - choose SAVE AS 2. You will note a screen comes up with the lower saving "Save as type:" 3. Click on the associated down arrow. 4. When you do, you will note several options. 5. Choose "Rich Text Format (*.rtf)" 6. If you want - I sometimes do - in the "file name" portion of the screen I name my file "RTF of xxxxx Trip Report" - so that I will know this is the one I need to cut and paste for pepperd.com. Hope this helps. John D. is the one that taught me this "trick" about a year ago. Ciao/Wanda |

Hi Henry, sorry I can't help, sure someone will tell you how. Me, I am as bad as you are when it comes to computers. Took me a year or two just to figure out cut and paste. Had lots of glue on my hands before I figured that out. Makes you want to stay home and not go anywhere doesn't it? |

I am receiving the same error message noted by several posts below when attempting to post Part 2 of my First Trip to Germany: McChord-Ramstein-McChord. I typed the report in MS Word, then attempted to cut/paste into comments box. I'm a computr imbecile, and have no idea what a .rtf document is, much less how to make one! If I send the .doc report to a board moderator as a MS Word.doc in an e-mail attachment can he/she translate it and post? It's frustrating as heck for this two-fingered typist to spend three hours creating a masterpiece, only to have the publisher reject it without reading! |
