Thank you for the info. I have signed up as you recommended and have command letter in hand. I will keep my fingers crossed that there is space for us. |

Bob, I think Kristen is planning to arrive at Mildenhall versus arriving at Heathrow. In any event, if you need directions for the Mildenhall-airport shuttle then check the details on on the spacea.net Mildenhall Wiki Page (a picture is worth a thousand words). As with anything, call to verify the latest info (times etc...). |

Kristen, when you enter the arrivals hall at Heathrow it will be crowding and confusing. The free bus, as noted, parks in terminal 3 which is very large. When you enter the terminal walk all the through and it will be outside to your right front. If confused, ask any airport employee in the terminal and they should be able to help. |

As a Cat 3, you should have no problem getting back to McConnell. You should ensure you are signed up as soon as you can for both legs of the trip. The free bus goes to the airport, not downtown London, but it pretty easy getting to London from the airport. Happy Travels. |

Kristen, Just remember if you can't get lodging at Mildenhall, go to RAF Lakenheath, only 5 miles, the bus leaves from both bases each day. xloadmaster, also should be no problem getting back, i make the same trip twice a year from Macdill. |

Kristen, Details on the free bus are included in the spacea.net Wiki Page (along with other helpful info on Mildenhall). |

I am a dependent aiming to go to Mildenhall starting out at McConnell AFB. I am wondering how easy it is to get back to McConnell for a return trip? I saw that there is a free bus to London. I can check on the ground transp. thread, but if you have any information on the free bus that would be great. If returning to McConnell is there a way to get home from any other OCONUS bases or should I expect to do a turn around from Mildenhall? Any other words of wisdom would be appreciated. I have my command letter and will be traveling with two teenagers. We traveled last summer CAT 3 and have the same classification this summer. Thanks. |
