Flights between Elmendorf and McChord are seldom, with maybe a half dozen a month. Same statement goes for either direction. They do happen, but you have to be lucky enough to be there at that particular time. There are not any routine scheduled flights between those two bases at this time. It’s easy to get from most places around the world to McChord, but I’ve had to use air miles before to get back to Elmendorf from there. However, you have the advantage of being able to sit at home till one shows up for the flight northbound, and stay with friends while waiting to go home. I don’t see any problems with that plan. Traveling from Elmendorf to Travis is usually easy.

Jessica - I've been watching for flights to Elmendorf too. For what it's worth, there seems to be just as many if not more flights to Elmendorf out of Travis. And for sure there seems to be more flights back to Travis from Elmendorf rather than McChord. Whidbey works once in a while...but not often. Best wishes.

Hi everyone! I am very new to all of this but I have been lurking around here for information as I am hoping to use Space A for the first time next month.

I am hoping to hop from McChord, WA to Elmendorf, AK sometime in May. I have a very flexible schedule...it's just me and my one year old daughter and we would be staying with friends at Elmendorf, so no worries about hotels, etc. if flights don't work out.

My question is, has anyone done this hop before? Any suggestions?

It seems that there are flights often from McChord to Elmendorf but not so often from Elmendorf to McChord. The Elmendorf terminal told me they are random and only about twice a month.
Someone suggested for me to try hopping through Travis AFB but there don't seem to be many flights for me to get back to the McChord area from there.

I will be Cat IV, me and my daughter. I know Space A is unpredictable but does this sound like a possible trip from all you seasoned Space-A folks?

oh, and as of today I put my name on the list for Travis, McChord, and Elmendorf. I think I will add Whidbey Island as well.
