In late March I was fortunate to catch a flight from Scott direct to Ramstein on the USAF DV C-40. The crew was in civilian clothes and were the nicest I've ever met, the meals had to be prepared by a 5-star plus restaurant. For the 8-hour or so flight I was a 5-star field marshall in my own private jet. What a great experience. |

The plane shown is a C-9B and of VR-46 as I recall. The interior is probably a C-40 since it looks like they are left side seats and three across. On a C-9 they are two across on the left and three on the right. |

Select, if possible, the ones by the exit. More room. The cargo is loaded over the gear. |

Ken & Danny, Could that have been a C-40C, DV C-40? Only two seats per side? (a blue & white bird?) |

I think Kenneth meant 737-700, as in Boeing 737 700 series which means a slightly different configuration not noticeable to the naked eye or ordinary person. 700 seats WOULD be nice, however! |

Most if not all the Air Force component C-40's are of the Boeing Business Jet variety and have leather seats. |

Will do, noticed on the FAQ section the thread indicated the crew runs power down the aisle to plug in any electronics...I'l be sure to bring a power strip and some lunch |

Thanks all, yes those contract AC are very cramped, especially on those long over water trips. Thanks all COL G |

The Navy C-40 is identical to a commercial 737 except the C-40 has a cargo area in front of the passenger seating area. I believe it is 121 seat capacity. |

Another good thing about the C-40, they have windows you can look out of. |

We just rode on a Navy C-40 in March. The seats were airline seats with 3 seats on each side of the aisle. There was plenty of leg room. We used every available seat for a full plane, but it did not seem packed. They originally said they had 30 seats, but they ended up taking 39 so everyone could fly.The crew used the jump seats to free up every seat. Love to fly with the Navy. |

In the ones we've ridden, seating is 6 across, but the space between rows is adequate. The seats are not plush, but they'll do (and, the price is right). |

Very nice ride. Seats are good. I think there was 121 seats on the plane. Nothing like the Pat Ex when you feel like a trapped rat. |

The one and only one we flew on was airline seats, but we had loads of room. Didn't feel cramped at all like the Pat Express. |

Can anyone tell me the seating configuration on this aircraft--assume its traditional airline type seats or is it a bit roomier? COL G |
