Donald,

Martha is correct - you'll have to decide what works best for you. In fact, you may not have a choice. As a Cat-VI traveling in Summer you may be glad to get over the Atlantic and you may not have the option of picking whether to go to Germany or Spain!

THX for the heads-up question. We're headed to Paris in Oct.

.......

Looking at Ryan for flights out of Jerez (closest a/p to Rota). The Ryan web site shows: destinations of FFT-Hahn, London-Stanstead & Madrid. The only city w/ an air connector is Madrid... and it's to Paris-Beauvais (83 km north of Paris).

Another option: Jerez to FFT-Hahn, then rail to Paris.

From my research, it sounds like Germany is the easiest route. Fly into Ramstein, then TGV out of K-Town to Paris...or rail to visit Deutcherfreunden in FFT, then TGV to Paris.

Also, early purchase of rail tickets should yield the lowest prices (+ a good exchange rate now).

THX for giving my trip planning a boot in the "___".

Thanks everyone, I know that I have time and want to plan way in advance. I did read the Germany to Paris from last month, my only question is I should go to germany and not Spain and fly Ryan Air to Paris?

Also, now that I think about it, I believe the TGV train runs directly from Ramstein/Kaiserslautern to Paris.

I would say Ramstein or Spangdalhem. We found very affordable train fare from Frankfurt to Paris on the German Bahn train website, but we did book well in advance. I would think being over a couple of months away you could still get a good price.

First time space-A, leaving in July from Dover we hope. We are looking for the best advice to get to Paris, should we go to Rota or Spangdalhem? I have checked trains and planes, if Rota then fly from Jerez with Ryan Air, not sure from Germany, can't find trains that are cheap.
