Oh God, now I'm having PTSD flashbacks on AFRTS PSAs/commercials! ;-) Good to see a somewhat better-balanced Space-A article for a change. I'd love for them to spend some serious time at a busy Space-A terminal and do some man-on-the-street interviews with a few SPATs, especially some that have been on more than one or two Space-A trips. Maybe next time... |

One of the things I noticed while staying at the Q last month in Sigonella, was that AFRTS replaced commercials on TV with subjects relating to the military folks. They frequently had one on space A travel. The word is definitely out there. |

Interesting article, and well balanced as far as exploring both the good and potentially bad features of space-a (over the years we've seen that not all such pieces are as honest!). But in addition to mis-using the term "bumped" she mis-states the rule on liquids. She writes "Due to security concerns, Space-A flyers can't take more than one-ounce of liquids onboard" whereas WE know the rules are the same as for any civilian airport with TSA screeners -- max. 3 oz. of any one liquid, and all kinds (per person) must fit in a 1-quart plastic baggie. |

Leland they used to a few years ago so the author may have "assumed" they still fly out of there/ On the other hand, she also misused the term "bumped." Still, nice to get a plug for the "unofficial sites operated by retirees and Space-A aficionados" - god forbid she'd mention the website names or provide links in the article!! |

Spangdahlem has "frequent rotator flights to Baltimore"? It's good to see the PAO folks continue to take Space-A as seriously as ever. |
