Amber, your command-sponsored (or whatever) status automatically disappears any time you are being escorted by your husband/sponsor -- you are now under his 'umbrella', presumably as space-a Category III (Active Duty on leave). He signs you in, he takes responsibility for you, and you assume his status throughout the trip as long as he is with you. (This means the Cat III rules apply, and therefore he cannot sign up -- and should do so at ALL bases from which you might originate flights throughout the trip -- until he actually goes on leave. However, upon that signup your family group immediately pops to near the top of all 6 categories so this restriction on the timing of his signup presents no hardship.) Don't even THINK about your category as being different (although it would be, if you were not accompanying him). |

Amber, The CONUS restriction does not apply to accompanied dependents Cat-III (just unaccompanied Cat-V). http://spacea.net/mediawiki/index.php?title=Space-A_Travel_FAQ#Dependent_Travel. 2FEligibility |

Leland, does that mean we are authorized to fly any conus-conus flight even though we are originally coming from Hawaii? It's ok as long as we are flying Cat III with sponsor, yes? I'm confused because the restrictions say that those flying command sponsored Cat V from Oconus-Conus cannot fly within conus once landed (unless manifested through after a scheduled stop on the same mission). That doesn't apply to Cat III with sponsor even if you originate from an overseas location? |

As long as you are with hubby, you can go where he goes. |

Not a first time space-a flyer, but a little confused about something. We are in Hawaii and trying to get out to Cali next week. The kids and I are flying with my hubby so we will be Cat III. Does the conus-conus restriction count for us too? Or only Cat V? Meaning; can we fly from Hickam to McChord, WA, and then hop on a new mission to Travis? Or are we limited flying from Hawaii to our first stop in conus? |
