Goose Creek NWS will most likely be closed until Tuesday, 1 June. You will have to call between the hours of 07:30 - 15:45 (local time) as they close very early in the day. The phone number for billeting is: 843-764-7228. Goose Creek is a good alternative for military lodging if Charleston AFB has no vacancies. Goose Creek NWS is located a very short distance north of Charleston AFB. (Just about 5 miles NE from Charleston's North Gate....in a straight line.) No problem driving there if you have your own wheels. You just never know what may magically appear! I've checked with lodging...no rooms. Not familiar with Charleston so would appreciate advice. If there are no rooms at lodging...is it easy to get off base to a hotel and not cost an arm and a leg?
