Shanna, Some additional info. #1. Yes, they do expire 90 days from issue date. See the the related Space-A FAQ article on Command Sponsored Travel. #3. In addition to the "Yes" answer you may also need a new command sponsor letter (depending on it's expiration date). |

Dear all, Thank you so much for the very informative advice. I especially like the "50/10" rule of thumb. VERY helpful. (And I have one daughter, Mike). You guys are wonderful - thank you again. You have helped me tremendously. Cheers! Shanna |

Shanna, As a newcomer to Space-A travel please take some time to review the info at www.spacea.net (especially the Space-A FAQ) as it contains a lot if basic Space-A info. |

Shanna, also remember to sign up for the flight back. Again you will want to have about 50 day sign up. This will give you 10 days to get out, if you are going to be trying to leave the states the end of August, remember so will lots of other moms/dads and children, so sign up will be important. Good luck. |

I believe I can answer a couple of questions: 2. You will have more seniority within your category by signing up on a date which will give you about 10 days remaining on your sign-up on the date you plan to travel; i.e have 10 days left on the day you want to leave. 3. Yes! Cant't help on the other 2 and hope I haven't confused the issue. |

Hi all, I will attempt my first Space A flight this summer from Spangdalem to the East Coast (preferably, Charleston). I have read every message on every board, every book and every website as this is my first time (Cat V) and hubby is TDY at school in CONUS. So. I have a few questions if anyone should get a moment. Please know that I did try and find the answers to these question. Thank you in advance for your help - I'm a bit nervous as this entire process just seems overly confusing! 1. Do Command-Sponsor letters of eligibity expire? 2. Is there a 'rule of thumb' on the best time to sign-up in advance of date you wish to actually (hopefully) leave? 3. If I should sign-up, not get a flight and my 60 days sign-up expires...does one just start over from scratch? 4. What is the best sleep mat in your opinion for Space A flights? A favored brand, so to speak. Ok - thank you so much for your help. I have donated to all of these helpful and wonderful sites. Appreciate your time! |
