Bill,

Drifting off topic now but to clarify, airport check-in for Ryanair flights ceased in October 2009. The only option now is web check-in.

Ryan Air has a 10kg limit; around 22#'s. They can be strict and you might pay extra at the check in. Also check in (on line) in advance as there is an extra charge if you check in at the airport only...

Their flights are cheap, but the extras can get you.

Scott:

Sorry, but if you try that at Mildenhall...you won't get on the plane (C-21). 1 bag, 30lbs, no carry-on...you'll never get the chance to talk to the pilot(s).

Happy travels, John

I used to fly C-21s, and 1 60 lb bag would be ok. It would take up the same amount of space as 2 30 lb bags anyways. The pax rep might tell you something different, but the pilots should be ok with it.

Stuart,

Please see the Space-A FAQ baggage article fo an explanation of the 30 lb limit and pooling luggage.

Unless they have changed their rules, Ryanair does not allow the pooling of luggage. So, you would each need your own 30 lb bag.

Stuart - Depends....On the (military) aircraft and the size of the bag. On the smaller aircraft (Lear, Citations, etc) bags go in a small compartment or lift over the seats to a space at a rear bulkhead. I don't believe a 60 pound bag (which by it's nature would be big) will make it

I have seen lots of references to the 30 pound bag limit for both smaller AF jets and also Ryanair - question - if a couple traveling together uses one checked bag weighing under 60 pounds fit the restriction - or is there a size problem as well ?
also is the 30 pound limit applied to just the checked bag or does it include a small carryon? thanks, stu
