Oceana (harder to find schedule postings) and Norfolk (few flights within CONUS) to FT Worth. Also Willow Grove (daily flight postings) has many flights to the Midwest daily. Ft Worth has Schedule (look for incoming East Coast flights) on line as does North Island (look for incoming flights through FT Worth). Then McConnell/Wichita is a 6 hr drive from FT Worth. Andrews to Scott flights are frequent, and a 7 1/2 hr drive to Wichita. |

Found the answer to my question. JOSAC. It's only available through military computers. |

Thanks to all. Didn't think of Fort Worth. Scott is definitely a resource. I'm planning for the fall, so I'll monitor the departure terminals. I recall that there was another Army or AF board that posted Exec and other routes, but somehow it has disappeared from my favorites. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? |

Both the Airevac and the exec flights frequent between Andrews and Scott. Kansas City is about a 3 hour drive from St Louis (not sure how much further to Wichita). If I were you I would also call the ANG unit at St Joe, MO (just north of Kansas City) and ask when/if they have something coming home from the East Coast. I'm assuming because they are ANG they go to Andrews once in a while at least. |

Daniel. I live in Wichita. If I were you I would look for a flight from Norfolk to Fort Worth. You can get a rental car and make Wichita in about 4.5 to 5 hours |

We live in Central VA near Charlottesville and we've used Space A on numerous occasions going to from terminals here and overseas. I know McConnell is a difficult base to get in and out of. I'm thinking about just getting close, say CO, NE, OK or AR. From the looks of the departure schedules posted recently, the choices are very limited. I was thinking maybe Pope AFB, but that looks no good either. The Andrews Medevac flights might be an option or John's suggestions about exec flights thru Scott. By the way, I'm not new to the board. I just don't post much. |

Daniel, Welcome to this board! We could advise you much easier if we know your location. VA? Where do you live, so we can advise the best departure point for you to get to where you want to go. Do you live near Norfolk NAS? Or Charleston AFB? Or do you live in the DC area? |

Several years ago, while flying from NAS JAX to NAS North Island, we made a refueling stop at Topeka. It may be useful to ask whether any refueling stops are planned. I would first inquire at Norfolk. The passenger service people may not know, but surely the aircrew would have that information. |

Daniel: Welcome to the Board! If you have not yet done so, please familiarize yourself with JohnD's SpaceA Pages (link top left), the general layout of this site and the Search Function (magnifying glass at top center) of this site. Nearly all questions can be answered from those three sources. Having read thru the FAQs is a great start and I would suggest reading thru the other sections on JohnD's site as well. " best departure and return terminals to work through to get within 4 hours plus or minus of Wichita." From the East coast it's pretty slim pickens to get anywhere near McConnell. The only suggestion I'd make would be medivac flights (Andrews) taking soldiers to the hospital at Ft Riley. That and exec jets out thru Scott to McConnell or Tinker. Happy travels, John |

I've been looking over the schedules and have concluded that McConnell is not the greatest for either departures or arrivals. Need some opinions on the best departure and return terminals to work through to get within 4 hours plus or minus of Wichita. |
