Geoffrey: The 3 ltr airport codes are useful to differentiate between cities,ie Jacksonville, Fl. JAX & NAS Jacksonville, NIP.

Hi Geoffrey. Welcome to the board. OF course, Carole's advice is perfect, if you are asking about departure codes. Could you have been describing the standard airport codes, i.e. NIP = Jacksonville, NGU = Norfolk. There are many sites listing airport codes. I usually just google the code, if it's one I'm unfamiliar with. With time, your most frequently used codes will become easily remembered. Happy Flying!

The 3 letter acronyms are flight showtime codes. The explanation of those codes can be found at the top section of the flight schedule posts.
