Bill, the reason I like the Good Old Days is because I wasn't old and I wasn't good! Roger in Jacksonville, FL |

This was mentioned in the www.Military.com web site, SpaceA Travel area: SAF_overview%2C00.html,http://www.military.com/Travel/Content1/0,,SAF_overview,0 0.html Guess they are referring to the BRAC 2005 Study -reduction of Military Bases (like Willow Grove & Brunswick Navy Bases, etc.). Then, in recent years the Military added new C5 Bases, like in Martinsburg WV, Memphis, Wright Paterson, etc. Some were old C141 units; that went to the larger C5's with more seats. Then AMC changed the rules to let Dependents fly in CONUS with Spouses and to allow Military families to fly SpaceA alone, while their Spouses are deployed. While times are a changing, SpaceA travel still looks good to me. And I like Dining Hall food, so I may not be a good judge of things. Most SPAT's have the attitude of: show us the rules and Military Bases; then turn us loose. In the good old days, with more Bases, it was a lot harder to SpaceA travel. Now may be the good old days. |

"There are increasingly fewer Space A seats, and that may become even scarcer in the near future due to planned reductions in Space A gateways." sombering prospect on space A travel. SAF_overview%2C00.html,http://www.military.com/Travel/Content1/0,,SAF_overview,0 0.html |
