If you review the Flight Schedule section you emwill see there is a lot of flights going and coming from Germany. Although Charleston has a lot of flights listed for Ramstein, a lot of them end of going to Spangdahlem instead. In fact we were on a flight listed for Ramstein and prior to take off it was changed to Spangdahlem. Lodging at Spangdahlem is great and we had no problem getting in. Happy Travels.

Thanks Phil (and Sandi), I'll pass along your greetings and B'day wish to Jane who is currently working in Richmond for the next couple of days. Thanks also for the tip. Jane lived in Germany a long time ago; and may be familiar with the Eifel region; but I'll do some web searching anyway. I've not seen any traffic leaving CHS for Spang; but there's usually a lot of flights to RMS. If the Germany trip doesn't pan out, maybe there'll be something going to HI and we'll go there for the "long weekend" instead.

Bob, Tell Jane that Sandi and I said "Hi".

If you have never been to the Eifel region of Germany, you'll love it. Spangdahlem is the base of operations for you. If you have to fly into Ramstein, rent a car and drive to Spangdahlem. You can then travel the Mosel River. ITT, at Spang, has some good tours. Lodging is great and the Space A is tolerable.

Happy birthday to Jane.

Okay, the suitcases and passports are dusted off and sign-ups submitted; and I'm looking for Lew Wirfs, one of our first SPAT members. My wife's B'day is around the middle of next month; and we're thinking of a short trip to Germany to celebrate. At our earlier SPAT get together picnics Lew used to give us a "class" on how to make the most of a short trip to Germany; but I've lost my notes. Since Jane (the wife) is still employed, we have to make the most of her vacation time; and I'm hoping that we can celebrate her B'day overseas.
