Getting back to the original thread about movement from Travis to Hickam, it's not good news today. We thought odds were pretty good, given that there were five flights listed today for Travis to Hickam. Encouragingly, on the first one they got as far as manifesting into Cat V. However, manifesting was all the further they got. Turns out that none of the flights today is going out, so everybody will be trying for the one flight on Saturday. I'll also post in Last Category Moved, if any actually move! |

Nicole - What kind of letter do you have? A command sponsored letter or an unaccompanied dependent of a deployed military member letter? |

Nicole, Assuming your sponsor is still deployed (and your letter is still valid), ask the folks that are telling you you are Cat-V to review the official memo (Posted here in the Space-A FAQ) or the various AMC Passenger Service Update messages that have outline the deployed Space-A benefit. |

We had a space a orientation (just for information and procedures etc) and they said spouses flying alone, or with dependents while the sponser (husband) is deployed is a cat III. When I signed up at Hickam I was a cat III, when I went to sign up for my returning flight I was put down as a cat V because they said any time we fly solo (regardless of sponsers deployment status) we are a cat V. I was told otherwise, by more than one person, and I don't know what I should do about it |

Nicole, there ARE cases where a category changes during a trip but they're fairly rare. Can you give us more info so we'll be able to unravel the problem? Like, how did you get to be a Cat III in the first place, and what did the March people say was the reason you were Cat V? Getting this clarified could help you the next time you want to travel, and also aid others who might run into a similar situation. (Also, did you get on your desired flight(s) even with the Cat V status, or are you still stuck somewhere?) |

I was put as cat III when I left Hickam, but when I signed up to return from March to Travis (then hop to Hickam) they have me at a cat V any idea why? they shouldn't have different guidlines, right? |

If the CAT VIs are getting out of Travis to Hickam this time of year, the travel gods must be with them. I hope it continues because I want to spent about a weei over there but I will go through North Island rather than Travis. If everyone is getting out of Travis then I won't have to worry about them coming to North Island. Happy Travels. |

The last posting for Last Category Moved from Travis was in early May. Looks like there are several flights per day to Hickam (most days), so I'm guessing even us Cat VIs will get out to Hickam by June 15th if we get to Travis in the next couple of days. Any good intel? Thanks |
