David,

You signup ONCE at each location and you can't signup till your pass begins. The FAQ may help your confusion about when to signup.

When can I sign up?"

Please take some time to read through the other info in the FAQ as well. Also, review "Roll Call" and "Manifest."

A pass is up to four days for us. I take them frequently.

An ANG base near me? I live in the Norfolk area so I am pretty sure there are a few.

Question: I'm a little confused about the signing up part. Let's say I know that I will have a four day pass coming next month. Can I sign up for flights leaving from one of the Norfolk area bases now? This would give me the 60 day time period right? And once my pass starts then I could conceivably sign up for the exact flight I want depending on availability? So are there TWO things I need to sign up for?

For clarity, I am active duty Army.

JohnD:

Sorry...Just found it in the AMCI.

WOW...I'd sure hate to be the individual or the individual's commander who approved the Pass, who then went spacea, and who then got stuck in a distant location beyond the time limit of the pass (max 72 hrs?). How does he get him back? He can't be put on leave (he's out of the local area). Wow, what a can of worms!

At least "back in the day"!

Happy travels, john

Elaine,

Active Duty don't have to take leave - they can travel in pass status.

John,

The reference is the DoD reg, Table C6.T1, Item 10 - "Uniformed Services members in a leave or pass status" are Cat-III.

Yes, they do have to show their pass authorization.

JohnD: Do you have a reference for AD flying SpaceA in Pass status? I was under the impression that you had to be in Leave status if you were AD and traveling SpaceA (Doesn't the sign-up form require DTG of Leave for AD?).

Happy Travels, John

David,

Yes, you can travel Space-A if you are in a leave or pass status.

If you are AD, you must take leave. And you don't sign up until your leave begins. If you are retired military, you may sign up 60 days in advance. Have you checked to see if there is ANG base near you?

Also, is it possible to travel on Spacea with a pass or must I take leave?

Hi,

I'm really new to all this but hoping for a sliver of hope. I have to travel back and forth from Norfolk to Nashville to visit my daughter and right now it's costing me a fortune. I saw one other post from a while back and it sort of dashed my hopes... So any hope???
