Sarah, thanks for the additional information. So, now all you need to know how difficult it will be is how many seats will be offered and how many Cat-1s, IIs and IIIs will be ahead of you competing for those seats! You won't know that until a few hours prior to the flight.

John....I am a Cat III, bc of hubby. I would be signing up this week sometime.

Cherry....yes, I know that there are usually very little seats available on that leg; however, the leg I would be trying for is the one that is on Sunday and is usually not a Medac flight. I know they had one last time and that's the one I made it on. They still have their reg Medac flights, but they had added one to Sunday that was not Medac.

If you've done this before, then you realize that often (usually?) there are no space-a seats offered on the leg from Ramstein-to-Andrews, because of patient needs? If this was the case on your desired flight, then you would need to get to some other east coast entry point and make your way from there to Andrews in order to grab a seat on the Andrews-to-Jackson leg, on which the plane is always almost empty.

Sara,

Depends on how many seats are offered and how many folks are in a higher category than you and how many folks in your category have a better signup than you at roll call on the day of the flight. Since the info above is unknown at this time it's impossible to predict how difficult it will be to get a seat.

I am considering going back to the states again in August. I would be able to leave anytime in August, but would prefer the 2nd week. I would be flying Ramstein to Jackson; which is a flight I've done before....but was wondering if my timing is good or bad? Will it be difficult to get a fligth that time of year?
