In May I departed Peterson on a monday but spent part of Sat and Sunday at the terminal. The weekend watch is military and they were most accommodating even helped track flights I located by calling upstream and down stream. The weekday crew seems to be run by civilians and they would prefer you use the pax terminal when available. Otherwise they did allow me to drop off car keys in their drop box and wait for the flt crew of an arriving plane before the pax terminal openned. |

But the base ops folks down the hall are not very friendly. They have a sign as you go into the hallway saying "no passenger services available beyond this point. Official business only!" I would suggest that if you are aware of a flight transiting Peterson on a weekend or night that you call a base upstream from Peterson and tell the pax reps to have the crew look for you in the base ops building at Peterson. I have done this, and given the upstream location my cell number, and by golly the loadmaster gave me a call when he was ready to manifest me. |

The people in Operations down the hall from PAX are, I believe, there 24/7 and that part of the bldg is usually open. If you know a flight is transiting the base you can hang out in the hall or the vending machine/break room and talk to the air crew when they come in. Most of the time they'll manifest you on the spot, if they have seats available. To paraphrase the bandit leader in "The Treasure of Sierra Madre": "PAX Reps.....WHAT PAX Reps? We don need no stinkin' PAX Reps!" |

We,the traveling spacea'ers, do not have any control of the numbers and dates of offerings of seats on any type of aircraft. We can only watch the board for flights from departure locations which we can travel to,sign up,pack light and hope for the best. |

I used to live in Colo. Sprs. area and at 1st it was open on weekends - then it only opened if something was coming or going out. Now they are closed on weekends. How can we get something going for us to fly out on weekends? |
