Al: You should be able to catch a flight to Spangdahlem. I would rent a car, stay at Spangdahlem, and see the whole area while there. There is so much to see and lodging is so easy to obtain. Happy Travel and have fun. |

Al: We did that part of Germany and Luxembourg last year in September and the weather was very nice - especially after the long summer here in Central Florida. One advantage of staying at Spang is you can eat in the dining hall. Lodging very nice and reasonable as well. While I am sure the tour mentioned is very nice I recommend renting your own car and taking your time. The American cemetery is easily found and parking in Lux easy and you need to walk the various streets to enjoy the sites and sounds. |

Al: If you stay at Ramstein, take the Horizon Tour from ITT on the Base. Their tour will take you to the American cemetery where Patton is buried. The tour leaves in the morning and returns late afternoon. Nice tour from a small Van with an excellent tour guide. (Also covers other interesting sites along the way). Hank |

Al: October is a great month to visit Germany/Luxembourg. Weather is chilly, possibly some rain (usually toward November), kids are back in school and Cat VIs are flying. Recommend staying at Spangdahlem...ease of access to Luxembourg, less demand on TLQ, etc (if you plan on on-base quarters). Happy Travels, John |
