In exchange for getting the US facilities at Frankfurt (to expand the airport) the German government funded the expansions at Ramstein and Spang. |

Thanks, John. I sort of assumed it was overflow from Ramstein. I remember the Frankfurt days well. Good times. |

James: Before Rheinmein closed, Rheinmein was the primary European MAC/AMC passenger/cargo terminal, with Ramstein as the back-up (secondary). Now that Rheinmein is closed, Ramstein is primary, with Spangdahlem as back-up (secondary). Hence the increased AMC traffic at Spang. Happy Travels, John |

Just be satisfied that there is another option to catch a flight from Germany to CONUS to take advantage of. |

I have just started watching this Space A board. Back when I was active duty Spangdahlem was a fighter base. Why are there so many MAC/AMC flights departing there for the states? I would think all the traffic goes through Ramstein. Curious! |
