Jack K, The new site does not recognize your login from this site. You need to CREATE a new account (you can try to use the same userid from this site) on the new site and respond to the confirmation email you will receive shortly after wards. If you don't receive a confirmation email then contact Dirk for a fix. |

Been following this thread for days and going to the link Dirk provided in the first posting. The new site does not recognize any of my current information nor does it recognize either of my e-mail addresses. Looks like I am running out of time to get authorization for the new site. Not sure of a course of action based on all the postings. Am reluctant to re-register. Please advise. Thanks Jack K. |

I just went to the site and although my computer has been off it automatically logged me on and I have access to all forums. Moreover, I did not receive a confirmation email on registering. I think the site must be run by the US government! Ha! |

This is a last resort, mind you. Repeat, last resort. I have had issues with other sites now and then (rarely). But what I did was ask the administrator to blow away, ie. delete my account entirely! Then I would start over as a brand new user and recreate my new account. This worked every time. My 2 cents. |

I am seeing the exact same thing. Two topics, and I have cleared cookies and cashe. I have managed to get the new site to tell me "twice" that it has sent me a "confirmation e-mail" but neither has arrived after two and 4 days. I am a firefox user with all 'updated" components. |

Another suggestion for the new site. Please make the sign in section larger. On a smart phone you can barely see it. Also, has there been any thought to developing a "mobile" version of pepperd.com? The current site and the new one are quite large and take a long time to download on a smart phone. Thanks, David |

Jack, If you are registered AND confirmed AND properly logged in you should be seeing a similar list of forums from General to Off Topic with many posts in each. So, sounds like either you are not logged in or you need to refresh your browser (clear cookies, cache etc....) as you should be seeing a whole week's worth of posts. |

Realize this will all work out but, I just visited the new site - yes I am registered - and there were two posts under Forum but both pertaining to cruises. Is it my understanding that, until the switchover, I will have to switch back and forth until everyone is accustomed to posting on the new board? |

Folks, If you are able to post on the new forum then please use that venue to ask questions and resolve issues. Also, please don't ask the same questions about the new forum in BOTH forums - it's redundant and inefficient. |

Gail and Melinda, When you go to the new site and sign in, hit login, and you will see the two sites. Then go the left hand corner and click on the FORUMS and you should see all the links. See if that works for you. |

Another question: what in the world is a "hot thread"? It is a red icon that leads me to believe it is important, but every time I click on one it turns out to be something I have already seen multiple times before. What makes a thread "hot"? |

The 'bad news' of having to reregister on the new forum is hardly bad news as I reregistered without difficulty and I'm cyber challenged. All this just when I was beginning to get the hang of the present(previous) site. I hope the topics will be as easy to click to as they have been on the site I, and others, have been using. As we are now on a Space-A trip in UK, we hope to have some useful info to post for others as we have benefited from their postings. |

Alan, Better again - make it a permanent fix by going to Settings (at top of board) then look for My Settings > My Account > General Settings and look for Thread Display Options. You need to make sure that Thread Display Mode is Linear - Newest First. Also, click on the double chevron to hide any advertisements competing for your screen real estate on the right-hand side. |

Jack Paxton said: Dirk: I have given out many "go tos" to www.pepperd.com. Will that take them to the new board? I am assuming and hoping that when this board goes to "read only" mode that there will be some type of very obvious notation across the top of the page with a link to the new board. Like many of you, I pass along this website as a valuable source but one never knows how long (or how frequent) the recipient will wait until using the website. BTW, one nice feature of the vbulletin format is the ability to quote the specific message you are responding to within a thread. Really helps with clarity of a conversation! Yay! No more cutting and pasting like I did with this reply. |

I like the new site. However, during the next 60 days, I see one issue that will make pepperd.com (collectively both sites) provide less information and make for more work for users. That is the lack of history on some threads. For example, we now have to go to both sites to track prior and current month Flight Postings. I suspect a lot of members scroll through specific bases prior to a trip to get a snap shot of flights. Another example, is the S&S threads, including the discussions on pre, during S&S, and post S&S travel. It will make is more difficult to review prior information, without jumping from one web site to another. Can there be a way to import any posts with activity within the prior 30 days of from pepperd.com postings to the new site? I think that will make the new site more useful initially and save a lot of jumping back and forth. David |

Dinotars, Yes, you can use the same userid as long as someone else hasn't already used it. The key point is that your current userid from this site does not automatically work on the new site - one has to create a new account using the same userid. |

I am trying to log onto your new site which looks great, will I have to re-register to use the new site. My user name and password from this site wont work on the new one. Also, we are heading East and Im hoping the flight information is still being updated on this site for now. |

Jack, Not for a while. I will eventually forward the main domain pepperd.com to the new site and keep the old board in an archive mode. Send them to: http://www.pepperd.com/vb/forum.php Thanks! |

Team, I want to start weening everyone off this board in advance of the move this coming Friday 25 May. This board will become "read only" on this date. After a few weeks it will become available with archive access only. Please start using the new forum more so we will be ready for the move! http://www.pepperd.com/vb/forum.php Thanks |
