This is just the report on the first half of the trip. Since we won't go back for at least a month I didn't want to forget.:-)

We were originally set to fly to Travis but the flight disappeared from the recording. Around 1pm a flight to ATL Intl showed up on the recording and I decided to risk it. Since my car is broken my friend had to drop the kidlets and me at the passenger terminal at 1:30am (roll call was 6:40). So there I was with a stroller, two car seats, a duffel bag, a suitcase, a backpack child carrier, and a backpack laptop/purse bag. Don't ask how I managed to get it all in the airport by myself...

I made roll call(14 seats open)and we got on the bus where we were told we'd be flying in a C40-B. The captain came in the bus and told us that the plane was for an admiral's personal use (he told us the name but my kidlet was being chatty and I didn't hear the name). There was some trouble with the plane so it had to stop at Travis for refueling before continuing on to Atl. The plane was very nice and roomy inside, I think that it set my expectations way too high for it being my first Space A trip. All seats were first class seats and there was tons of leg room. The attendants were very nice and helpful. When we finally got to Atl at 1am, they put us on a bus to take us to the terminal. I'd called my friend and had her reserve a car for me since it'd be cheaper to drive than to fly but I had to wait until 5am for the car. We took a catnap on the floor of the airport and then slept some more inside the car when we got out of the airport. What should've been a seven hour drive turned into 13 hours. Overall, my experience was great. I'll definitely do it again and can only hope that I meet people as nice as I did on this trip.

word of advice, don't go on a road trip alone with a just potty trained almost two year old and a four year old that has the bladder capacity of a newborn.
