Thanks...Grandad is super happy although we'll be flying commercial home because we're taking grandad with us and obviously he can't fly space A. Last time I tried to get home from here (travis) Space A I decided to drive up to fairchild because they have/had direct flights to mildenhall every monday. Well....I ended up getting stuck for 3 weeks because each monday they wouldn't release seats. I ended up meeting my husband on a TDY in las vegas and flew commercial home with him. So until then we'll enjoy the sun in California!! |

Brooke, your trip and "boys" is the coolest part of Space A to me. And of course I am sure Grandad is a happy man today. good luck getting back the same easy way. |

I didn't think this trip would be possible for me the past few months. There have been absolutely no flights to Travis from Mildenhall in MONTHS and trust me I had been looking. I thought my only options were going into either Fairchild or McChord via a C17 or KC135 and that made me nervous with 2 little ones beings that I had only ever done travis runs on the very nice KC10. I had all but given up hope when A travis flight popped up for Thursday the 28th. I was elated. It was supposed to Stop in Dover and I knew it was carrying troops. 10 seats released which turned into 28. Showed up for the 10:55am show time and I was the only one wanting to go. We go on with no trouble and to my suprise the Dover stop was eliminated. I was quite happy about that as well. So off I went with my 2 little ones to enjoy some time with Grandad while daddy is in the sandbox. Flight was long but smooth and we arrived 10 1/2 hours later. I am always so grateful to the crews of these flights who always help me with my bags and boys. We are very lucky to have the "family" we do. Happy Travels everyone. |
