Billy; There are two ways to stay there. We stayed at the Casa Toscana, army lodging building. Quite nice, but not very big. They also have Sea Pines Recreational Facility, which has some small cottages and an older lodging building. This is more like a camping area. All together the number of rooms is still limited due to the great proximity to the ocean beaches in the summer; it is in a very nice location and rooms fill up quickly so make reservations early. Dining on base is also limited. However, the town of Tirannie has lots of nice restaurants and is very close and is the town that has the American beach. Good luck and let me know if I can give more advice. Alan |

Arrived at Dover March 3 with a friend (both of us are CAT VI) and wives. Within an hour checked into C-5 flight to Ramstein. (left with 30 empty seats). Once there made calls and got rooms at Heidelberg,Stuttgart, Garmish, Vicenza , and Camp Darby. Got Hertz rental car and made the trip in the order described above. On evening on March 20 returned to Ramstein, spent night at the Inn, and caught C-5 flight next morning back to Dover. ( 65 empty seats !!!). I don't know how the trip could have worked out better. |
