The return trip went well. The flight was a bit more crowded. And the same movies played as the "to Misawa trip", which was incentive to sleep.

Thanks for the info. I'm hoping to do this same trip in May.

Congratulations on your success. It doesn't take long for Murphy to strike...
You could also go stir crazy at intermediate stops like Misawa, don't they hold you in a sterile waiting area due to immigration issues? That's what Yokota was doing a couple of weeks ago when I passed through there enroute to Kadena.
Thru passengers had to stay behind security in a jammed holding area. Smokers got to venture outside on the flightline side of the terminal.

I took my first ever SpaceA flight on Sunday, traveling from SeaTac airport to Misawa on the Patriot Express. Although there were some minor hiccups, it was well worth the $15.

Some lessons learned:

1) The AMC office does not open until one hour before the Space Required showtime. So getting to Seattle before that times means you may go stir crazy in the airport.

2) The USO at SeaTac was great and very helpful. I napped and showered! But the volunteers work in 4 hour shifts, and the first EAM shift was apparently rude to some of the families and started limiting access for families and to the free food. But...it's free, so you can't complain too much.

3) Check your baggage claim tag! When we landed at Misawa, 6 of us did not receive our bags because they were marked for Osan. Despite the fact that the plane was still sitting on the tarmac for another couple of hours, we could not get our bags until the plane returned the next day.

4) If you are flying through to Osan, be prepared to wait on the tarmac for much longer than the time quoted. My fiance works on base and said he saw the plane still sitting there about 3 hours after it was supposed to have left for Osan - or 5 hours total.

Overall, it was a good trip for $15 and I hope the return trip goes just a little bit smoother.
