My wife and daughter actually wanted to de-plane after we were seated. of course we were not prepared and froze our backsides off but since then we have gone back to germany in the SPAT catagory since then. Am AD and was able to get a few days of leave. Drove to Spangdahlem and when I arrived at the terminal, they told me that there was a flight going in an hour and there was room. Flight was on a C-17 and went direct from Spang to Charleston. The entire experience was great. The only thing I need for the hop home is a pad and a sleeping bag. The aircraft didn't have a seat kit installed and the jump seats were a little hard on the posterior.
