Dakota, You are right around the corner :-)

Definitely try not to miss Alaska. I really rec'd the Alaska Visa card if for nothing else than the $99 companion cert issued once a year. Especially since Alaska flies from Sac to Maui (non-stop) now :-)

I am in Citrus Heights and you gave us lots of good info.

I have been trying the Space A route in late August or early Sept and have not been had not had success in the last two years. I may have to do the commercial route because I don't want to miss it!

I am going to post a link to my blog for the trip report since it is long and I write reviews for traveling with a little one too.

Basically Alaska was wonderful and so beautiful! It reminded me of Lake Tahoe. Most of our trip was not space-a because we flew commercial and utilized some hotels (with gov rate), but did use Seward Military resort for glacier cruise and halibut fishing, as well as Ft Richardson for 1 night. It was a wonderful place and I learned so much about getting the fish back home. ha ha Seward will cut it up but you pack it and store it in their freezer and we brought it back on our airline. Much cheaper than shipping it over-night via fedex. Overall 55 lbs of halibut to enjoy :-) I learned a lot about Alaska and Elmendorf and Richardson and the Seward resort. I took pics and have a map if anyone wants to let me know if we have a place for such things. Any questions, ask away because my report isn't so detailed as what is in my brain because I have a little one tugging on me.
