Part 2
The toilet and shower was in the middle. The bedroom area has a flat screen TV and so did the living room area. We could have easily hosted a family of 8 with lots of room.
Next morning back on the plane and home again. We had a great time. Can’t wait for our next adventure. This was our third Space A with the first one not exactly was we had planned so two out of three is not bad. Looking forward to our next adventure. I am working toward getting husband to get me over to Rota to see our AFS daughter. Pat

Who would ever think we would be able to accomplish this. Well we did thanks to Space A!!!
We left on Memorial Day and came back on Saturday. The trip was short and sweet. Monday we arrived in Anchorage re: Elmendorf mid afternoon. It was HOT, about 80. We had made arrangements prior to leaving to have a rental car ready for us when we arrived. We rented thru the BX re: Hertz. Hiram was on his way to pick us up before we even called. That is what I call service.
We drove over to Seward that afternoon and stayed on the Army side of the Seward Resort. The room was very simple and adequate. Room had two beds, dresser, large closet, flat screen TV, microwave and also refrigerator. I liked the shower arrangement with the vanity outside the shower/toilet area. The room was $101 per night. The view behind the resort is worth millions.
Tuesday we took a long ride to Soldotna and also Homer. Homer was especially fun and interesting as it felt that we went back in time. Many little shops and lots of RV’s. In fact almost every 4th vehicle was an RV, most being rentals. Lots of boom dockers.
Weather was mostly cool with rain off and on. Definitely not tank top and shorts weather other than the Monday we landed. If you go think FALL with rain gear and warmer layered clothes.
Wednesday we went out with the staff at the Seward Resort for Halibut fishing. It was $150 each with $20 for a one day license. We had 14 people on the boat and all of us got our limit. My first halibut I pulled in my husband told me to let it go back in the ocean. I thought he was nuts! But there were many more to catch and I ended up landing six but we could only keep the two each. Everyone on the boat caught more and kept the larger ones letting the smaller ones grow for the next time.
Another boat next to us “the partiers’” from Tuesday night had 15 fishing and out of 15 there were 14 hanging over the side. It was funny for us to watch but I am sure they were some sorry fishermen.
We got back to the resort and it is all set up for fish cleaning, filleting, wrapping, and also freezers for you. This is included in the price of the room. Our fish was processed and we went then went in to town for a nice dinner. Dining is expensive in Alaska but it is what it is with a tourist season from May to October so they do have a captured audience.
Thursday we took another drive around the area to “hunt” for moose and just look around. It was a great relaxing day and we did see a moose. I got so excited I yelled out “moose, moose, moose, camera, camera, camera!
Friday was pack up day and we took the long way back to Elmendorf via Whittier and Prince William Sound. We did the tunnel thing and then turned around. Not much was open but Tony had been there with our sons and wanted to show me the little village.
We got back to Elmendorf and rented a room at the Air Force Inn. Thought we got the wrong room for $39. It was a huge suite with a bedroom and desk area, sink, refrigerator, and microwave and the other side of the suite had a sofa, chair, murphy bed and the another sink, refrigerator and microwave set up.
