Age 12 and older are allowed in the Gateway Inns in the San Diego area. In addition to NASNI and NAB right on Coronado, there is also Point Loma NB, Point Loma FASWTC, and San Diego NB, all within 5 miles or so. They can all be reached at the same #877-NAVYBED (628-9233). The original thread here pertained to the Navy Lodge on Coronado, but I thought the info was germain. FYI, the Pt Loma accomadations I stayed in last Feb were all newly renovated, and you can't beat the view! |

Just remember that there are other accomodations in San Diego. However, the closest to North Island is Coronado Amphib. Base. If you have transporation, then it opens up all the way to Camp Pendleton. |

for the looks of some of them they need it. I think I have seen kids at CBQ when we have stayed there. I think I asked and if they are 10 or older they can stay. |

This is really going to put the hurt on space-a travelers with kids, especially unaccompanied moms, as I don't think that kids are allowed in Gateway Inns. |

A reservationist for North Island's Navy Lodge tells me that as of Feb. 1 they will be taking about half of their rooms off line in order to do renovations. She gave no estimate of how long that would last; and I am presuming that once those rooms are done they will open them up and then take the OTHER half off for similar treatment. This is already putting a lot of pressure on other options (example: the Gateway Inn was all booked fully a month in advance). |
