A couple of weeks back I was headed to Florida in search of the sun. My destination was Ft. Meyers so I chose to fly commercial. My departure time was 0800 which would mean that I would have to leave Delaware in the middle of the night. As an option, I chose to drive over to the National Airport area the night before. I called Andrews, and they were all booked up. I called Ft. Meyers (VA that is) and they had digs at a rate of $175 for one night (since I thought I had mis-heard, I asked for a repeat on the rate - still $175 for a single). I ended up staying at the Best Western (on Glebe road) for one night for $72.00. For an additional $30.00 I could leave my car in their parking lot for up to 2 weeks and use their free shuttle to and from the airport. Keep this in mind for short trips out of Reagan National.
P.S. didn't find much sun in FL. |
