A few years ago, we had intened to get down to the area to watch a lunch on our way to Mickeyland. We were running late, so we just pulled over on 95 with all the other cars and truckers and watched the lauch. Not bad, then we wenton our way. We did avoid alot of traffic east of 95

Guess I will spend my Birthday here in the UK then. Pass on any flight heading to Fla and watch the Launch on TV as well as the Football game. Guess it is to late to rent one of the places at Patrick for a week.

Remember You Heard it First on WWW.Pepperd.com !!

There are only 5 Shuttle Launchs left...Ever!!

The next launch is scheduled for Sunday morning, 7 Feb 2010. Endeavour launches from Pad 39A Feb. 7, 2010, 4:39:47 a.m. EST . If you haven't secured lodging yet....you're out of luck. Every commercial hotel (as well as PAFB lodging) has long since been sold out. This includes Titusville, Cocoa, Rockledge, Melbourne, Palm Bay, Merritt Island, Port Canaverale, Cocoa Beach, Satelite Beach, Indiatlantic Beach, Indian Harbour beach, etc, etc, etc. Maybe Sebasitian or Vero Beach has something. And I'm sure Kissememee and Orlando has rooms, but how many?? don't know. This will be the last scheduled night launch of the shuttle. Got friends in the area...contact them now and promise them anything. The only frenzy akin to this launch...getting a hotel room in Miami for the Superbowl that weekend. Oh...did I mention the same weekend, There's a marathon in Melbourne and the Reserves at Patrick are having a UTA. And I think there's a football game 3 hours south of us in Miami!! Bet you could make a fortune selling sleeping bags, pup tents, coleman lanterns and thermoses of coffee on A1A that weekend. Don't forget to bring a transistor radio with you and tune into live coverage on WMMB 1240 on the AM dial. Nuf said.
