John, you are right. I pulled out my base map and it is on the south side. I guess we were so busy sightseeing in Panama City and PC Beach that we never got around to walking the base. Oh well, at least I got my annual mistake out of the way early this year. |

Leland, We stayed on the South side of Tyndall Pkwy (not the flightline side). Perhaps they've demolished, moved the buildings we were in but I can't imagine them blocking off the access to the beach (from the parking lot at the end of Louisiana Ave based on a quick look at the Google map). |

John, don't you have to go out the gate and across the highway to get to the water? |

Stayed there a few years ago - not the most modern room but Location Location! Short walk down to the pure white sandy beach. It's a great location (as long as the smell from the nearby paper mill is blowing the other way)! |

We stayed at Tyndall about this time last year and loved it. We flew in there from Tinker AFB. We were trying to get to Charleston and took the first thing going east. We had planned to rent a car and drive back to Charleston the next day but we were so comfortable there that we extended our stay another two days. The beach is beautiful there. We are planning to go back there in a few weeks. Angie |

We stayed one night about two years ago. The accommodations were fine (aside from having a double bed when we are used to a queen). It included a kitchenette. It was about a 10 minute drive to Panama City and another 10 to Panama City Beach. Don't overlook Naval Support Activity Panama City if you are looking for lodging. That is actually in Panama City. |

Has anyone stayed at Tyndall? It looks like a good place for enjoying the state park beaches such as St. Joseph's. Retirees authorized in the dining facility for breakfast? Thanks for any info. |
