Guam visit

I never stayed there but did visit the USO. I just checked their website and they have special military rate $75.00 per room night. They also comment on waiving the 11% tax. We are staying with family but were told there is no lodging available. Be sure to make prior reservations so you will have a room. You could always check with lodging on arrival. There was a good size group of us who arrived at the same time trying for lodging. Someone in the group knew about the Royal Orchid Hotel for $70 per night and no taxes. Once we found this wonderful hotel we did not attempt to inquire about base lodging for the 6 nights we stayed. The hotel is super with upscale European bath fixtures. Goggle it and see what they have to offer today. This was a special military rate, but again it was in 2007. Both times we have been to Guam we have call lodging for quarters and been refused but once we went to lodging we were able to get lodging. Most quarters off base are expensive.
