Thank you all for your input. I do have plans to call them a little closer to our travel dates and will let everyone know about success or not. I will also look at Little Rock as an alternative. We have stayed there on several occasions when traveling back and forth and I would recommend them to anyone. Great people and very nice quarters. Want to try Barksdale since it is about 3 hours closer to our destination in Texas so we would be a little less worn out when I have to drive through Houston. |

I have found most Guard/Reserve drill weekends are the 1st weekend of the month - but remember first weekend of some months might be near a holiday and the drill weekend slips to 2nd weekend - such as in January. Call Air Force billeting locations (1-888-235-6343) and ask. I haven't had problems getting billeting except on drill weekends. Ciao/Wanda |

True, Mervin and Sunday night of a drill weekend is when the lodging usually opens back up. So Sunday through Thursday is usually the Space A period. We have gotten lodging at Dover and Travis both on Sundays. Travis was a drill weekend... can't remember about Dover. |

Phil - The Friday night before a week-end drill is usually counted towards the week-end, because reservist who use the military lodging for week-end drills normally have to drive a long distance, therefore most travel Firday Afternoons or nights to the location in order to get a full night's sleep before early formations on Saturday mornings (I speak from experience) |

If your not going to be there on a weekend day... don't worry. When we plan on staying at military lodging, we avoid weekend travel and have never been denied a room/suite. |

Dave, I suggest calling Barksdale Lodging as they should know for sure the upcoming duty weekend schedules. |

Does anyone know if Barksdale has reserve weekends and which ones they might be. We will be traveling to Houston in mid August and were hoping to be able to spend a night there enroute from Tennessee. I have stayed at Little Rock several times going and coming but in this case it looks like Barksdale may be a bit more convienent. I have run into the problem with reserve weekends where all of the available rooms are taken up and was just curious if it would be worth trying. Will be looking for one night on probably Aug 13 which is a friday. Thanks in advance for any input. |
