In March we were part of a group arriving late at Dover who went to the Best Western (as suggested earlier, at my request, by a person at the AF Inn because the Inn itself was fully booked) and were pleased with the rooms and the military rate which was about $74 per room including all taxes. It included a fairly minimal (no fruit) continental breakfast.
I have no idea where in Dover the Best Western was located except that "Wynn" quickly drove us there in his van (having just offloaded 4 pax he had brought from the Philadelphia airport) for $5 per person and the next morning we were picked up by a driver from Budget who took us several miles north on what seemed to be a major commercial highway to do the paperwork for our pre-reserved one-way rental car.
(BTW, any time when after being manifested on a flight I then call for a last-minute military lodging reservation at our destination and am told they are full, I ask for some names and phone numbers of nearby off-base possible places that give military rates, just in case when we get on the ground there the lodging folks still say they are fully booked.) |

Since we stay with family most of the time, when the BOQ is full, it is nice to know of someplace in the area incase of an early flight. |

That is where we stay when we go to Dover and can't get into billeting. Stuff is spread out up there but it is close to 'when pigs fly' the best bbq in Dover. |

Is this near anything that you can walk to for eating? I am thinking it is up near the shopping area, by the local college, is that the general area? |
