Jerry - Hobart is right, there are places to stay at Yellowstone which are not as expensive as the trailers. Having seen the trailers, and having stayed at Yellowstone, I would not pick the trailers. If you haven't been to Yellowstone before, do it right, stay at the Old Faithful Inn, right in the middle of everything, and an experience in itself. You can take one of the guided tours or talks by the rangers during the day or evening, enjoy good dining there. There are other Inns at Yellowstone, but Old Faithful is my favorite. Don't know what they charge nowdays, and how difficult it would be to get a room, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. When I first retired, I requested an application for the wife and I to spend a season working at Yellowstone (a good friend of mine did, and he and his wife really enjoyed the experience). I didn't send in the application, but now wish I had. Don't know when you are expecting to visit Yellowstone, but I wouldn't recommend the summer; late September or this time of the year would be good. It's crowded, but the summer is impossible. We have made around five visits to Yellowstone in just about every season except dead of winter. One year we visited in the first week of October. It snowed the night before, and most of the next day, but not to hard to travel around, I think we met about 10 cars the entire day, saw wildlife galore, and the snow experience was wonderful.

We stayed in Yellowstone last year. The trailers were rented through Mountain Home AFB. Not exactly sure but I think they were around $70 per night. The trailers were at the southern tip of Yellowstone, only a short distance from Teton National Park. They advertise that up to 6 people can stay in a trailer but I can tell you from personal experience that 2 is about the max. We had 4 adults and we were uncomfortable. You have to use community showers which were close by. The experience was a good one but not sure I would stay in them again. There are places to stay at Yellowstone that weren't as expensive as you may think. Yellowstone is a must see if you have never been there.

Has anyone stayed in the trailers at Grant's village in Yellowstone National park?

Also there is 3 Yellowstone country trailers on the Military Living map. Am I looking at out of date information? if you stayed could you tell everyone the condition, cost, etc.?

Anyone know of any National Guard places to stay in that and the Black Hills area?
