Inga,
My apologies for my stupidity. For whatever the reason, I have thought that Ft. Knox was on the outskirts of Lexington, KY. My BAD.

Inga,
I noted, in speaking of Ft. Knox, you wrote,"it is still a perfect stop between Louiville, KY and Nashville, TN."
What routing do you take between Louisville & Nashville?

We stayed at Ft. Knox for 2 nights last week- one night on the way down from PA to Nashville, TN and one on the way back a week later. The accomodations were well beyond expectations. We paid $63/ night for the 3 of us. We were given a 1 bedroom (2 double beds) suite with a small kitchen. It was really nice. Things seemed fairly new. The base is large, and a little confusing to find your way around at first, expecially getting onto base. It is a little further off the highway than we expected, but it is still a perfect stop between Louiville, KY and Nashville, TN. There are two main lodging areas- Newgarden and Wickim. Both times we were put in Wickim- which is supposed to be the older lodging, so I can only imagine what Newgarden looked like. We were very pleased and would definately recommend it. In addition, we had a very nice breakfast both mornings.
