Military Housing in Portugal

We requested lodging in a succession of seven of their facilities for the month of July a bit over a month ago. The immediate response was that it would be quite difficult to get approval for the locations at Tavira and Lagos for July because they are so popular with the Portuguese during that month. The other five should not be so problematic. We still had not received confirmation last week so I checked again. I was told that the central office to whom our requests must be addressed don't query the individual facilities until about a month prior to our expected arrival date in order to ensure that serving members of the Portuguese military have first crack at the quarters. This, of course, is as it should be.   John D.
