Leland - I've stayed at Benning several times. The units are in the old Quartels and are quite nice. I've also stayed at the Uchee Creek cabins. Quarters at Fort Benning are hard to get, as it has many schools there. Prices were $36 (single) up. Be aware food on the weekends and evenings is hard to come by. Burger place closes early and delivery is chinese and pizza (minimum $25 order)

Good info on the CB base. Based on your heads-up, I found there's a Navy Lodge & a Gateway Inn @ the NCBC. THX I've already reserved a room at Dobbins ARB for Sun (RON) (made 72 hours ahead). The Keesler Inn is currently more crowded and has adjusted its advanced reservations from 72 hrs prior to 24 hrs prior. [darn] Keesler loc is preferred due to proximity (7 mi vs 21 mi) to our overseas brat reunion in Gulf Hills. [keeping r fingers & toes are crossed.] THX again. |

Boy talk about timely. How did you get your room reservation at Keesler AFB Inn and was it easy? We're planning to be in Biloxi next week (10-14 May) and hope to get a room at the Inn. [ We've plans B & C, but Keesler is our best fit option ]. Our plan is to call Fri (3 days in advance) for the first three days, then extend day to day for the remainder of the week. Enroute to & from Biloxi/Keesler, we're hoping to get a room at Dobbins AFB Inn (Atlanta). Ditto on room resv. |

We just got back from another trip and thought I'd share our experiences with lodging on various bases we visited. Generally it is all wonderful!! Ft Benning GA - wow - a wonderful big room/suite with the most comfy bed, a good sized living room/kitchen, attractive courtyard with big porch - they even had free breakfast! Only downside was no elevator. Beautiful base! Lackland AFB - San Antonio TX - they were out of rooms with private baths so we got a shared bath. Not too bad - no "neighbor" the first two days. Nice room with our own sink/mirror/dressing area. They had an elevator. Keesler AFB - Biloxi MS - great nice room - main gate was only a few blocks from a beautiful beach |
