Just made reservations for 1 night at Arnold AFB, Wingo Inn. Printed up Google map to base and also Ming Buffet. Sounds like it will be a good nights stay on our way to Huntington, IN for our daughter's 50th birthday. Thanks for the information from all! Carol in Ocala |

Stayed at Arnold lodging again last night. Again, I arrived after the office closed, but the system of getting room key, etc, from gate guard is air-tight. Bought my food on the interstate before going to the base, because like I previously said, after normal duty hours there is absolutely no place to eat on base. Found out the hard way that not all of the suites have the honor bar, so I had a soft drink from the vending machine. Was told at check-out that only the suites on the first floor have the honor bar. None of the suites on the 2nd floor, or any of the single rooms have the honor bar. Just FYI...best advice is to BYOB just in case. Still no complaints about the lodging itself. |

It is in Tullahouma but the Ming Buffet is one of the best places to eat we have found anywhere. They do give a senior discount on all meals. |

Going south from the I-24 exit (to Arnold AFS & Tullahoma) you'll pass the main gate (on your right) before coming to the Wingo Inn/Lodging turnoff. Just inside the gate is a small BX/Commissary facility where you can purchase food and beverages. They were converting the shared-bath accommodations to suites the last time I stayed at the Wingo Inn. I would assume that there are now refrigerators and microwave ovens in most of the rooms. This place is a great depressurizer! Consequently, I would strongly recommend stays of at least three days to see and enjoy all that it has to offer. |

Mike, those dining options are still available as you noted. I stayed on a Monday night, so no club. Left around 8am the next day. It was almost as close to drive back to the interstate from lodging, as it was to drive to the golf course. It is a nice area if you have time to enjoy it. I was just passing thru, but would stay there again. |

Arnold AFB's Wingo Inn is located in one of the eastern USA's most gorgeous settings; on a beautiful lake surrounded by mature deciduous trees. If there on a Friday or Saturday, one used to be able to dine in the adjacent officers club. The base golf course also served breakfasts and lunch on week-ends. |

I stayed 1 night last week at Arnold AFB, TN lodging. Nice suite for $39. Comfortable bed, but some of the furniture was a little outdated. Wireless internet was advertised, but I couldn't get it to work. At check-out, another long-term guest was complaining about it also. Located about 15 minutes off I-24, exit 17. I arrived after 6pm, so the gate guard had my key, etc. Nothing at all to eat on base in the evening, so plan accordingly. Otherwise, a decent place to stay. |
