I made a reservation at the North Charleston Inn at the beginning of April the same day we wanted to drive there and try our Space-A luck for Germany early the next morning. I found them on the Charleston AMCGRAM. 10 minutes after making the reservation we changed our mind and I called back immediately to cancel the reservation. I was told it was cancelled (but did not ask for a confirmation number). This was early that afternoon. On our return from Germany I saw on my credit card statement that they had charged us for this one night. I called them and needed 3 attempts to finally speak to the representative in charge and explained that I had cancelled my reservation 10 minutes after making it and that they should not have charged us (I had left two messages on her answering machine and had asked to be called back). The representative told me she will check into the matter and call me back. For over a week nothing happened and she did not call me back. I started calling again and left her 2 or 3 messages asking her to call me back to resolve the matter. Nothing, no call. Then I decided to turn it over to my credit card company last Friday, 2 weeks after starting to resolve the matter with the North Charleston Inn. My CC company opened a case and then yesterday (Monday) the hotel representative finally called me back to tell me that she credited back the amount to my credit card. After turning it over to my CC company they suddenly reacted fast. |
