Anderson, Guam Lodging

The USO is not on base, it is actually downtown inside the Royal Orchid Hotel, and they are not open 24 hours. One thing this island has is hotels, so it is almost imposible not to find a place to sleep. Also many of the hotels have military discounts, but you will most likely still spend $100+ per night. At Anderson you can rent a car near the BX, but a taxi can take you anywhere downtown. If traveling with children the Pacific Island Club Resort is the place to stay, the rooms are just okay, but their water park is worth every penny. Bob Dart included a list of hotels; these are all good places to stay and all with websites. We look forward to hearing about your trip. Many of the terminals will have USO's and they can be a big help for you. They normally have places where your kids can rest and computers for you to use to keep up with what is going on in the direction you are heading. What is your departure point and destination? The Navy is about 45 min away and the Tumon hotels are at least 30 min away. Depending on the time of day, traffic is heavy at various times. It is a small island with lots of people, residents and tourists. Hotels in Tumon will be $100+. Are you going to be a couple or a single traveler? with kids? It would be an expensive cab ride. So nobody has successfully stayed overnight in Guam? There's got to be an option here. Do you know if there is a taxi service on base so one could get downtown or to the Navy billeting? Navy has billeting, but it's quite a distance from Andersen AFB and little/no public transportation. Hotels are available downtown, but again, quite a distance and ditto public trans.
