Thanks for the tips. I found out about the New Sanno Hotel after my post here. My plan is to stay about a week in Tokyo (at the New Sanno if available) before flying out to Singapore. Haven't been in Tokyo for a few years so would like to sightsee a bit. |

Larry: Very good point. 98% of Yokota's departures are launched very early in the morning with showtimes way before a train can get you to Fussa, so the option of Hardy Barracks or the New Sanno Hotel are okay up until the day before departure. For retirees it's even worse because they have to get stamped out at immigration as well. Kanto is usually available, even in the summer and I've only been bumped out of my room once and was right back in it at the 6:00pm roll call. |

Meant to say Hardy Baracks, not Camp Hardy! |

If the Kanto Lodge on Yokota is full, you might try the New Sano Hotel or Camp Hardy. Both would require a trip into downtown Tokyo, by train or the low-cost military bus. And they're both more expensive than the Kanto, but less expensive than local Jap hotels. The real fly in the ointment is if you have an early showtime at the terminal; hard to get back to Yokota in time. |

Yokota lodging will only allow you to reserve a room 3 days in advance for up to 3 days at a time. |

You may be able to schedule lodging now at Yokota, if you call. If none is available, at least you would know ahead of time. |

Hi, I am a military spouse and will be traveling by Space A to Yokota with my child in late June. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay if we cannot get lodging on base? Has anyone tried successfully to get lodging in Yokota in late June? |
