Ed, this sounds like a real deal in this economy even with the dollar getting stronger. I seem to recall paying 65€ in 2006 at Oberammergau for my wife and I.

We stayed the other night at the NATO School Guest Quarters in Oberammergau after attending the Passion Play. To get our tickets, we had to purchase a night of expensive accommodations in town, but after it was over we moved up the hill to the school for another night as we further explored the beautiful area surrounding the town. Cost for two was 55 Euro (single was 45) which gave us a generous sized room, free internet, and breakfast of course. Washers and dryers were available for 1 Euro each. They have a very small PX there, as well as a Rec. Center, but they were closed on the weekend, at least thru Sunday morning when we departed. As a side note, we spent a day earlier in the trip in Garmisch, and were able to shop at the PX there on Artillery Kaserne across from the Edelweiss Hotel. I know what the rules are, but I say "if you don't want to hear the answer then don't ask the question".
