The club was closed on the night I was there, so had to go off base to get something to eat. I called earlier this month to see if I could secure accomodations for a trip I made a couple of weeks ago. I must have talked, or tried to talk, to the same person you did, because I could hardly understand anything she said. I did understand that they were making revonations and she couldn't tell me if lodging was available on the date I wanted. No, I know my Pittsburghese as that's where my family is/was from etc. *THAT* I could've dealt with. ;) I travel a lot and find ways to communicate but IMO this was not the best person to have answering the phones - for a second I thought I did dial the wrong number/country. Face to face it probably works better but I made do. It’s not fancy, but clean, and the staff is friendly and the price is right. They also have WiFi in the rooms. I guess yunz don’t understand Pittsburgese. I think what the person was trying to tell you is that you can make reservations up to two weeks in advance, but it’s difficult to get a room on drill weekends. We are planning some family travel when my husband has leave later this summer and I just discovered this mil lodging exists when I searched the dodlodging.net site...and it certainly is more affordable than the nearby commercial establishments! I did call to try and get more info directly but unfortunately the person I spoke to was very heavily accented and while they seemed to understand me, I only made out a few words like "drill" and "two weeks". I knew I was calling too far in advance for space-a reservations and from my own digging afterward I know their drill weekends are the weekend prior and the weekend after our trip (pure luck there!). Since it's a reserve base I wanted to know if it was even feasible to think we'd snag a room or two. I've learned all bases and lodging isn't created equally although the AF still has the best reputation, LOL. Anyway, I figured I'd try asking here since y'all are a wealth of knowledge!! (and that's not facetious, I mean it!) thanks- Maria
