Some hostels do have private rooms but you usually need to reserve them ahead of time. I can't remember if the one in Darwin has them...do a Google search for YHA Darwin Australia. Their web page should tell you if pvt rooms are offered. |

Can't help with hotel recommendations but I did stay a few nights at the Darwin YHA Hostel downtown. It was pretty nice as hostels go. |
